Valarie of Encouragement For Every Day wrote a blog post about following the leader, and she reminded me of a prayer I often pray from Psalm 69.
O God, You know my foolishness;
And my sins are not hidden from You.
Let not those who wait for You, O Lord God of hosts, be ashamed because of me; Let not those who seek You be confounded because of me, O God of Israel (Psalm 69:5-6 NKJV).
I am so far from perfect, and I do stupid things just like everyone else. Praise God, who is rich in mercy!

Thank you for sharing this with your readers. Too many times we find ourselves lacking as Christians. I thank God for his mercy and grace as we continue to grow in Christ. As I was reading my Bible this morning I came across this verse and it made me think of what you were saying here. Philippians 3:12-14: “Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.
13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”

Beautiful and so true for all of us who put their trust in Christ 🙂 1John1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Lamentations 3:21 This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.
22 It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

I often feel so very unworthy of His love, and all that I have. We all sin, and I know ‘me’ better than anyone else does. My own sin makes me sad sometimes, because I know it must make Him sad.
We must all just try to be the example to others that He wants us to be. I fail at that, a lot.
