Sunrise, Bunnies and a Jacuzzi

In a previous blog post, I recommended the book “Captivating” by John & Stasi Eldridge before I even finished reading it.  The authors wrote that God romances His people, because He desires a relationship with us.  I am spending a week away courtesy of a relative, and I am taking advantage of this time to learn more about God and spend time with Him.  I know God doesn’t always feel close or give us what we ask for, but it’s so cool when He does.  Today, I watched Him paint a beautiful sunrise, and I watched over a dozen wild bunnies hop and scurry, both from my balcony.  I hadn’t asked for those things, so they were nice surprises.  But I did ask for something in particular, and He granted it.  I’d decided to use the jacuzzi made available to me.  I filled it, but I couldn’t find an ‘On’ button.  It had two metal caps on each side that turned, but nothing happened.  I was a bit disappointed, but after soaking for a while and praying for various people and situations, I asked the Lord if He could please turn the water jets on.  I sat up, and my attention was immediately drawn to the plastic label with the name of the jacuzzi, and this time I noticed the symbol of a clock, so I pushed it, and the jets came on.  Then I gazed upward and softly said, “Thank you”.
