In a previous blog post, I recommended the book “Captivating” by John & Stasi Eldridge before I even finished reading it. The authors wrote that God romances His people, because He desires a relationship with us. I am spending a week away courtesy of a relative, and I am taking advantage of this time to learn more about God and spend time with Him. I know God doesn’t always feel close or give us what we ask for, but it’s so cool when He does. Today, I watched Him paint a beautiful sunrise, and I watched over a dozen wild bunnies hop and scurry, both from my balcony. I hadn’t asked for those things, so they were nice surprises. But I did ask for something in particular, and He granted it. I’d decided to use the jacuzzi made available to me. I filled it, but I couldn’t find an ‘On’ button. It had two metal caps on each side that turned, but nothing happened. I was a bit disappointed, but after soaking for a while and praying for various people and situations, I asked the Lord if He could please turn the water jets on. I sat up, and my attention was immediately drawn to the plastic label with the name of the jacuzzi, and this time I noticed the symbol of a clock, so I pushed it, and the jets came on. Then I gazed upward and softly said, “Thank you”.

You’re right, but sometimes we either don’t think to ask, feel it’s too small a thing to bother God with, or don’t believe He cares enough. Thank you, Mr. Snell, for visiting and leaving a comment. 🙂

When we come into alignment with our true authentic self, we connect to that which is Right and Important in ourselves, and from there we have a strong sense of deserving. Then connection to God is easy and automatic.
I’ve been doing this for quite-a-while now… I have a practice of pulling God in close, like a lover, Building a connection… a close and personal connection. He is here just for you, as he is here just fro me, or him, her and them.
Blessings…

If our sense of deserving comes from our position in Christ through redemption and adoption rather than in the things we do, then we can and will have a close relationship with Him. Thank you again.
